Gaming Chairs
Updated
A gaming chair has a bucket-style seat shape with high back support and adjustable arms, originally designed for the reclined posture gaming uses. The look has crossed into general home-office use as the WFH market expanded. Aosom UK, Cheap Furniture Warehouse and Cherry Lane Garden Centres between them cover £7-£1,249 across the range. The bucket seat shape suits gaming sessions but doesn't translate well to a working day at the desk; if the chair is for working primarily, a proper ergonomic chair is the better buy. Look for 4D armrests (slide forward, rotate, height-adjust, lateral-adjust), integrated lumbar support (adjustable not just present), and reclining backs that genuinely lock at intermediate angles. Faux-leather is the dominant material; expect peeling within 2-3 years on heavy daily use. Real leather and fabric gaming chairs at the £200+ tier last longer. PC-gaming-style chairs are the loudest in colour; office-style gaming chairs (subtler colours) suit shared rooms.
