Pillow Cases
Updated
A pillowcase outlasts most of the bedding around it; one set in regular rotation lasts 4-6 years where duvet covers wear in 2-3. The fabric is the only meaningful spec for everyday use: cotton (the standard), bamboo and silk (cooler, premium), and microfiber (cheapest, less breathable). Bedeck Home, Cherry Lane Garden Centres and Fulfilora between them cover £1-£153 across the range. Pillowcase sizes: standard 50x75cm (UK standard household pillows), Oxford 50x75cm with a 5cm flat border (more decorative, common on premium sets), king 50x90cm (longer pillows). Closure types: housewife (pillow tucks into a hidden pocket), Oxford (visible flat border around the pillow), bag-style (open one end). Silk and bamboo pillowcases at £25-£80 each are the longevity-and-cooling-and-skin-care option; cotton pillowcases at £5-£20 each are the practical household choice. Buy spare singles to refresh worn sets without replacing the whole bedding kit.
