Fitted Sheets

A fitted sheet is the bottom sheet with elasticated corners that grip the mattress, replacing the older flat-sheet-tucked-under format. Skirt depths run 25cm (standard mattress, no topper), 30cm (deep-pocket mattress or thin topper), and 35-40cm (deep mattress with full topper or pillowtop). Confirm the depth against the mattress before ordering. Fabric choices: cotton percale (crisp, sleeps cool), cotton sateen (smoother, slightly warmer), brushed cotton or flannel (winter-warm), microfiber (cheapest, doesn't breathe), bamboo or Tencel (premium, sleeps cool). For households where the bed is shared, look for full-elastic skirts (elasticated all the way round) over corner-only-elastic; full-elastic stays on the mattress through restless sleep, corner-only rides up overnight.
