Vanity Mirrors

Updated

A vanity mirror is the small tabletop or wall-mounted mirror used for makeup, shaving and grooming: typically 20-40cm in diameter, often with magnification on one side and a normal reflection on the other. Aosom UK, Cheap Furniture Warehouse and Cherry Lane Garden Centres between them cover £5-£461 across the range. Magnification: 1x is normal reflection; 5x suits eye-detail (eyeliner, brows); 10x suits pore-level work but distorts at full-face distance. Most vanity mirrors come with both 1x and either 5x or 10x sides. LED-lit vanity mirrors with adjustable colour temperature (warm-cool) are the makeup-application standard at £30-£150. Stand types: tabletop (the household standard, sits on a dressing table), wall-mounted with extending arm (folds out from wall, retracts when not in use), or freestanding with weighted base. Battery-powered LED vanity mirrors avoid wiring; mains-powered last longer per use. Look for a stable base; a top-heavy vanity mirror tips with the slightest knock.
