Outdoor Wall Lights
Updated
A wall light at the front door does two jobs: security illumination and welcome lighting. The IP rating tells you which positions it can take. IP44 is the minimum for a covered porch; IP65 is needed for any wall light fully exposed to rain. PIR-sensor wall lights save the dawn-to-dusk timer and energy bill but need a sensible distance setting (most adjust 4-12m). Andrew Martin, Cox and Cox and Furniture in Fashion between them cover £5-£725 across the range. Bulb fitting matters for replacement: GU10 LED replacements are universal; integrated-LED units have a 25,000-hour lifespan but the whole fitting replaces when the LED dies. The grid below filters by IP rating, sensor type and finish (chrome, brass, black).
