Monitor Stands
Updated
A monitor stand lifts a desktop monitor to eye level (the ergonomic correct position) without buying a new desk. Aosom UK, Cherry Lane Garden Centres and Fulfilora between them cover £9-£310 across the range. Three formats split the category: simple monolithic stands (a single block or shelf that lifts the monitor 8-15cm); adjustable monitor arms (clamp to the desk, swing the monitor in 3 dimensions, the ergonomic premium); and risers with built-in storage (lift the monitor, store small items beneath the lifted area). Adjustable monitor arms are the proper ergonomic upgrade; the monitor sits at eye level regardless of desk height, swings out of the way for cleaning, and frees the desk surface beneath. Look for VESA compatibility (75x75mm or 100x100mm - most monitors). Weight capacity: monitor arms typically rate 8-12kg (single monitor) or 16kg+ (dual monitor mounts). Single-arm stands cost £30-£80; dual-arm £80-£200; premium gas-spring single £100+.
