Drinks Trolleys

Updated

A drinks trolley is the bar-cart format that's seen a steady comeback since 2019: 2-3 tier wheeled cart, holds 12-25 bottles plus glasses, doubles as a side table when stationary. Aosom UK, Cherry Lane Garden Centres and Choice Furniture Superstore between them cover £30-£1,500 across the range. The format choice runs from contemporary (chrome and glass, minimalist), industrial (black metal and reclaimed wood), to classic Art Deco (brass-finished frames with patterned tops). Most drinks trolleys hold a 12-bottle bottom shelf, a glass-rack middle shelf, and an open top tier for cocktail-making. Wheels matter for the cart's working life: ball-bearing castors hold up to daily moves; cheap plastic castors fail within 18 months. Look for a brake or lock on at least two wheels (otherwise the trolley wanders across the room when you set drinks on top). Glass shelves crack under repeated decanter weight; mirror or solid-wood shelving is the longer-life build.
