Callistemon laevis is a deciduous shrub with a gorgeous section of flowering that forms in scarlet red flowerspikes, making an impressive display for the garden in the Spring and Summer months. The foliage will, at first, show with a pinkish-red tint, before eventually turning dark green with age. Planting Callistemons in moist, well-drained soil and placing them in full-to-partial-sun will help them thrive. Watering should be done regularly as the plant begins to establish itself in the garden. Once that period has passed, you can water it once a week as the plant begins to tolerate periods of drought.
