Also known as a Papaver orientale, this variety produces large, intensely red flowers held up on strong and upright stems, growing from a compact plant that remains tidy and uniform in the garden. A characteristic dark splotch can be seen at the centre of each large bloom, followed by seed heads. The green foliage is covered in silver hairs, remaining full of colour throughout the flowering process, making it ideal for planting in beds, borders, and pots.
