William Morris Pure St James Embroidered Cushion 50cm x 50cm Linen Bachelors Button, first created in 1892, features dramatically swirling foliage in a medieval fresco style. Translated onto bedding in a sumptuous 100% cotton matelasse weave and monochrome colour story, this duvet offers a calm, rejuvenating feel to bedrooms. Bachelors Button is another name for a cornflower, the floral worn by men in their jacket buttons in the 19th century to signal their readiness for love. An Oxford pillowcase is available with the set, featuring the same foliate design and prepared with the delightful, clipped matelasse style. Sold separately.
