This Anglo Aquatics Butomus Umbellatus is a Marginal plant that comes with pink flowers and is ideal for placing in shallow edges or on shallow planting shelves. Marginal plants are perfect for the borders of your pond where the water is most shallow, or perhaps on a planting shelf. They are able to tolerate waterlogged soil but should be planted no deeper than four inches below the water level. These hardy aquatic plants can be grown outside of the water also, as long as their soil is kept consistently moist. Benefits: Pretty pink flowers in umbels rise above the triangular leaves which turn from red to dark green as they mature. The roots used to be crushed and used as food in northern Asia.
